Why we don’t sell Numismatics to Investors

While we do sell numismatics for collectors (see our eBay store), we have decided to not offer gold numismatic coins for investment purposes. For two very important reasons, we believe they are poor investment choices. First, are the high premiums or commissions. Most coin and bullion dealers offer these coins at 20% to 35% premium over their intrinsic gold value. Therefore, any investor would have to wait for these coins to appreciate 35% to simply break even. Second, it is extremely difficult to sell these coins if you needed to. You would have to find a willing buyer to pay for your coin. Bullion coins are a fungible commodity for which there is always a ready, liquid, and transparent global market.
