Selling Your Gold? We’ll Buy it!
Gold Rates are Unregulated- Not all places buying gold pay the same rate. It is up to that establishment to determine how much they pay you. Some simply cannot pay as much as others. Think of it like this: the person who buys your gold can get more for it when they sell it, if they have more. Well, that’s us. Palmetto Precious Metals works directly with the refinery and most jewelry stores in the area sell the scrap gold they buy from you to us. We’re not a pawn shop or jewelry store. Buying Gold is our business.
Understand your Gold’s Value – The amount you get for your gold is based on it’s gold content. It doesn’t matter if your gold is in the form of a broken necklace or a stunning antique pin in perfect condition. Scraps of gold (broken items, loose beads, gold teeth) are worth the same as gold jewelry or coins in good condition. If your item has stones we will remove them if you want them because they will not add to the gold estimate. We do not pay for your stones, only the gold. Your gold’s value is based on the weight and the karat. Is it really gold? Stamps like GE (gold plated), EP (electroplated), and GF (gold filled) let you know that your piece is not gold.
Compare Quotes – Since the price paid for your gold can vary from place to place, we suggest you get a couple quotes from other stores. You can’t do this over the phone. Most reputable places will test it right in front of you and give you an offer. You are under no obligation to sell at that time. Once you have your quotes from other stores bring your gold to us. We also caution you against mailing your gold to a company you are not familiar with. Dealing with a local buyer could save you from being a target of an online or TV scam.
It is a Great Time to Sell Gold! – While rates fluctuate daily, a market change of even $50 will only affect the value of most pieces by a couple dollars. The value of gold is at an historic high right now, having risen 25% in the past two years and over 400% in the past 10 years! Now is an excellent time to cash in on your broken and unwanted jewelry.
